I had always been interested in photography itself, but I never had the chance to get my hands on a camera until my senior year of high school. I shot everything from my high school jazz band, to my best friends, even the random fire hydrant down the street.
What I found in those photos - the smiles, the laughs, people getting lost in the moment - inspired me more than really anything else ever had. I knew from then on that this was what I was meant to do.
See The Stories I've Captured
Once I posted some of my work, people slowly started reaching out asking me to take their photos. I was so excited but so nervous, I had no idea what I was doing, but I trusted my gut and learned by shooting as much as possible. By the end of the summer, I had accidentally started my own photography business, the best accident of my life.
That was 2 summers ago now (oh how time flies) but I’ve learned so much about myself since then. I learned that I love getting to know people, their stories, and being able to authentically capture them through storytelling imagery. I learned the power of editing and how it can change the mood and tone of a photo. And I learned that running a photography business is a lot harder than you think (what a crazy thought.)
My life has become so much different than I thought it would be, but I’m very grateful for where I’m at and equally grateful for the people who continue to support me directly and from the sidelines (you’re awesome!) I cannot wait to continue this journey I’m on and to keep telling stories through my lens.
